This accident took place on 9/10/06 - A tractor and trailer hit six vehicles that had stopped due to road construction on a two lane Rd. Their were two fatalities, two were transported by helicopter and one person by rescue squad. The gentlemen in the Yukon under the truck was very lucky, he sustained a broken ankle, fractured arm and some minor injures. It took firefighters from Crewe and Amelia 1 hr. 45 min to free the driver from the Yukon. Units responding 1-Eng. & 1-Heavy Res. truck from Crewe in Nottoway Co. E-3, FR-1 and B-3 from Amelia. Also used- 2 large wreckers, 2 helicopters and 1 farm tractor -Everybody did a great job and worked together great.

Jan. 28, 2008 - This was a very busy morning for the volunteers, 1st. house fire in co. 3's area @ 05:30 -2nd. fire in co.1's first due at 8 am and the third call was back in co.3's area at around 9am. Thanks for the help from Nottoway VFD on the trailer fire. No injures where reported on any of the fires.
