Morning House Fire Brings Companies 1, 3, 4, 5, and Powhatan Co. 1
Sun. Jan 31st 2016

At 0718 AM, Amelia dispatched Companies 1, 4, 3, & 5 to a house on Grubb Hill Church Rd. for a report of a Structure Fire.  Within minutes, a deputy who was nearby advised that he was on scene, and that the home was "pretty well involved". Units arrived on scene to find a two story, wood frame, well off in the Alpha-Bravo, as well as Charlie side with an exposure on the Bravo.  The exposure had already lost its siding, and a small amount of fire was licking out of the gable vent.  E1 put a quick darkening on part of the fire nearest the exposure, and placed a line in service to protect that structure.  Two more lines were placed into service on the main structure, and, as water supply allowed, E1 also flowed the deck gun to bring the blaze under control.  Two photos show fire conditions shortly after arrival, and the other was when units were clearing.

Units on scene: E1 E3 T4 E5 T5 T1 T3 AU1 B1 B3
